CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni) is a no-profit organisation involving 43 Italian Universities and Public Research Institutions in the ICT area. CNIT has the aim of coordinating and promoting theoretical and applied research activities also in cooperation with national and international industries and of providing advanced educational activities in telecommunication. Each member (unit) is involved in the design, realization and management of equipment, systems and services in the telecommunication sector. CNIT has been partner in 37 FP7 projects and 16 H2020 projects up to now. In FLEXCOM, CNIT will join through the University of Calabria’s Department of Computer Engineering, Modelling, Electronics and Systems (DIMES) which has been judged, during the last National evaluation of research activities, as one of the highly rated engineering in Italy. The research group involved in the proposal has a specific experience in SatCom terminals as it has been involved in several EU (e.g. FLEXWIN FP7, DIFFERENT FP7, QV-LIFT H2020), ESA (e.g. SKATE) and National (e.g. ApriKA) projects in this field.
